We are an Anglican church with a traditional message and traditional form of worship that uses the 1928 Book of Common Prayer.
We are affiliated to the Diocese of the Holy Cross, which is comprised of parishes affiliated with Forward in Faith-North America and whose goal is to establish a “free orthodox Anglican Province”. The Diocese of the Holy Cross bears witness to the faith and practice of the Undivided Church as received from the Church in England, especially concerning Apostolic Order and Holy Matrimony.
We are not associated in any way to the Episcopal Church of the United States.
The Rev. Father Raleigh H. Watson, DDS, is our Rector.
Saint Michael the Archangel is the patron of our Parish – The Prince of heavenly hosts, the head of God’s armies, champion of God’s people in the Old Testament, and mighty guardian of God’s chosen flock under the New Covenant. He is represented in art as the angel warrior, the conqueror of Lucifer.
As faithful Anglicans, we have inherited the faith of the undivided Catholic (Universal) Church; together with the Apostolic orders of Bishops, Priests, and Deacons, in succession from the Apostles of our Lord; and the discipline and moral standards of the historic Christian Church. Saint Michael’s Church began with a meeting held in Winchester, Virginia on October 5, 1994 with 10 persons present. Many of these faithful had left other churches and were searching for a more meaningful, traditional service and liturgy. They first met regularly for Holy Communion at College Park Church of Christ. On Easter Sunday 1995, St. Michael’s held its first service in the main auditorium of Calvary Baptist Church, 844 Amherst Street, Winchester, where the congregation worshiped until September 1999, when it moved to its current location on Old Bethel Church Road, just north of Winchester. Please e-mail any questions or comments to email@example.com or contact us by telephone or U.S. mail as follows: Parish telephone: (540) 678-3930 Church Mailing Address: P.O.
